RAJASTHAN WILDLIFE
Rajasthan is one of the largest states of the country, and having a remarkable and rich wildlife. Rajasthan is spread in about 3,42,000 sq km. this state provides shelter to approx 500 species of birds, and about 50% of them are local, and mostly come from eastern Europe.

Popular national parks, famous for wildlife are mentioned below.

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve: Ranthambore Tiger reserve lies on the adjunction of Aravali and Vindhyas, which is located 14km drive away from Sawai Madhopur in Eastern Rajasthan. This park mainly contains three lakes – Padam Talab, Malik Lake and raj Bagh. This park having a significant geological feature, at every end, this park is covered with either rivers or hills. River Chambal bounded it from south, banas in the north, with Ranthambore Fort and Aravali range. This park is mainly famous for the migrated birds of different species and tigers, and apart from these, here is a lot, like- Lagur, Leopard, Caracal, Hyena, Jackal, Jungle cat, Marsh Crocodiles, Wild Boards, Bears and various species of Deer are the other attraction.

Sariska Tiger Reverse: It is located 200 km from Delhi and 107 km from Jaipur. This park is larger than Ranthambore Park. It spread in 800 sq km, in which core area consider in 500 sq km. This area considers as a sanctuary in 1995 and become a national Park in 1979. This park is mainly famous for its large population of Rhesus Monkey.

Tal Chapper Sanctuary: This sanctuary is located in the Great Indian Thar Desert. Tal Chapper Sanctuary is filled with almost flat track and open grassland with scattered Acacia and prosopis tree which give it an impression of Savanna. At the time of rain, water flows through shallow low lying areas and collected in a small seasonal water pound, so that, this sanctuary popular as “Tal Chapper Sanctuaryâ€

Darrah Sanctuary: This sanctuary located on the southern border of Kota, with thick forest. An erstwhile, this park, use for the royal hunting preserve of Maharaja of Kota. This park spread in 250sq km and located approx 50km from Kota. Best time to visit is between February and May.

Sajjangarh Sanctuary: This sanctuary park located 5km drive away from the beautiful city Udaipur, which is surrounded by Sajjangarh Palace. From this palace we have a magnificent view of Udaipur and Aravalli Hill range, the view of sunset and sunrise attract tourists. In the hill, at the short distance from Sajjangarh, there is an artificial lake, known as a “Jiyan sagarâ€, which also famous as a “Bari Lake†or “Tiger Lakeâ€.

Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary: It is situated in the Aravali range. It takes name after the historic fort Kumbhalgarh. From park we can see this fort. This park is spread in 578sq km area. This park is a home of different variety of wild animals, include wolf, leopards, sloth bear, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, sambhar, nilgai, chaisingh (the four horned antelope), chinkara and many more.

Desert National Park: This is an excellent example of the ecosystem of the Thar Desert. The Sudashri forest post is the most ideal place for observing wildlife in Desert national Park. This national park is a home of Blackbuck, Chinkara, Wolf, Indian Fox, Desert Fox and Deser Cat.

MountAbu Sanctuary: This sanctuary is a great place for nature lover tourists, as it has great potential eco tourism. It is situated at the highest peak of the Aravali Ranges. Due to effect of wind and water, large cavities are common the rocks. This forest is a combination of 112 plant families with 449 genera and 820 species. This sanctuary is also rich with medicinal and herbal plants. In past, it indicates presence of lion and tiger. In now a day panther is the apex predator.

SitaMata Sanctuary: This forest is situated 108km drive away from Udaipur. This is a forest of Bamboo and dry deciduous vegetation. This is home of variety of Deer, Pangolin and Leopard.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park: This is a bird sanctuary, also known as magnificent bird haven.
