CHITTORGARH
Chittorgarh is also famous as Chittor or Chittur. It was the formal capital of Mewar, this city is situated on the banks of river Gambhiri and Berach. After few time, a new district created, name Pratap Grah. This new district is a mix up of certain portion of Chittorgarh and Udaipur district. Chittorgarh is a symbole of pride, spirit and romance of Chattari Rajput. The fort is surrounded b y the wall, which has seven huge gates, named Bhairon Pol, Padan Pol, Hanuman Pol, Jorla Pol, Ganesh Pol and the main gate known as Ram Pol and once you enter through these gates, will see main area of fort. There are many stories behind the construction of Chittorgarh or Chittor fort. Few consider that, this fort and palaces built by the Maurya in 7th century AD. That time this place used to call up with name Chitakut. Few say that Mewar’s was in possession of the fort. As per mythological story, this place was built by Pandava warrior Bhima. This place is very much connected with rest of india, Chittorgarh is on national highway 76 and very well connected with KOTA, anyone can reach there with 2 hr drive from Kota. Chittorgarh is well famous for its audacious history.

The past of Chittorgarh is full of love, romance and glory, which is very much clear on the wall of ruined castles, forts and royal building. These formidable past on wall attract tourist apart from the present sahdes.

Popular places, concern with History and Culture are Chittorgarh Fort- this fort is a major attraction for tourist in Chittorgarh, this fort is located on the top of the hill, which is 300 feet high from the ground level. This fort spread in very long area, which can be approx 700 acrea of piece of land. kriti Stambh (The Tower of Fame)- this is a jain tower, which is devoted to the Jain Teerthankur Adinath. This tower is 22 mt high and has seven stories. The statue of Adinath is located on the 2nd floor of this tower. Mata Sati, Padmani’s Palace, Phatta’s memorial (Ram Pol), Rana Kumbha Palace, Vijay Stambh (Victory Tower)- this tower built by Maharana Kumba in 1440Ad. This tower is placed in the Chittorgarh Fort. This fort built in a memory of victory of kingdom overt the Mohammed Kilji. This tower is 37 m high and has 9 floors. Popular places, concern with Nature, Gaumukh Reservior- it is a beautiful reservoir, located at the western side of Chittorgarh. Popular places, concern with religious are Kalika Mata Temple- this temple is dedicated to Kalika. It is one of the oldest temple of state, which was built in the 8th century. Meera Tempale and Shyam temple. Apart from these historic destinations, there are few more, which are unexplored, like Wildlife sanctuary in Chottorgarh are, Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhainsrodgarh wildlife Sanctuary and Sita mata Wildlife Sanctuary.
